Immersion Student Roundtable Proposal

At lunch on Friday of this fall’s Immersion (September 17th, 2021), we will be having a student-led discussion at each table. I would like to invite you to submit a proposal to lead a table surrounding the discussion of your choice. This will be during lunch, and you will present the essence of the topic and why you feel it is important to discuss this with those seated at your table. Then, as table leader, you would moderate the conversation and add any ending summary.

This would be a great way to offer your leadership at Immersion and to get experience presenting to your peers. It could be a topic of discussion surrounding some research you are doing for your dissertation or even in one of your courses. Some examples for topics include the following:

• Diversity and Inclusion — What are the gaps that still exist in organizations?
• Women and Leadership — What factors prevent women from negotiating contracts?
• Higher Education — Partnering with search firms and the impact of candidacy success.
• Research — How can students prepare better for the dissertation defense?
